About Sian Van Driel

Sian trained in ceramics at the West Surrey College of Art and Design, Farnham, Surrey.

On leaving college she became a ceramics lecturer and teacher as well as continuing with her own work. She has exhibited nationally and internationally.

Recent work has involved the techniques of throwing, coiling, burnishing, slipping and glazing. The pots are fired by the exciting method of sawdust firing - adding other combustable materials!

Experimenting has been a continuous and revitalizing way of working with clay and the elements. The results allow each pot to have a unique style of its own.
