ABOUT GAYNOR
Gaynor Williams is a graduate of Southampton University and studied bookbinding at London College of Printing; City Lit, Fleet Street. She has a Diploma in Book and Paper Conservation from West Dean College, West Sussex.
Gaynor:
- Provides the opportunity for you to repair your own books under tuition in The Blue Door Bindery
- Undertakes the repair of books using conservation quality materials
- Under commission makes new unique books, such as albums, guest books, baby books, journals
- Provides the opportunity for you to make unique books in The Blue Door Bindery
- Designs and makes decorative wall panels using leather, vellum and suede under commission and for display in galleries
- Attends and gives demonstrations and workshops at outside venues such as museums and art/craft galleries-
- Soon to be Artist in Residence at The Midhurst Gallery

- Restoration of Philip Miller, Gardeners Dictionary (1731)
- Production of non-adhesive books using discarded proof pages Eric James Mellon's
latest publication 'Eric James Mellon - Sixty-five Years of Printmaking (2010)
- Decorative leather wall panels - using pig, goat, sheep and fish skins for a superyacht
- Stabilization of library volumes of Ellen Terry at Smallhythe - for National Trust
Bookbinding Events
Gaynor exhibited a selection of handmade books and demonstrated
the sewing of text blocks at:
- Bookbinding and the Creative Spirit: A solo exhibition. Gaynor
exhibited and ran workshops at the Flora Twort Gallery, Church Path,
Petersfield, Hampshire.
