Introducing the Watershed strategy

Watershed galleries is an online artist's and craftspeople's commune. Very few artists have the time to maintain and update their own web site, they have better things to do. Watershed provides the advantages of a larger site to ordinary working artists. We take the display of art and crafts work very seriously, we want our artists to do well. So Watershed concentrates on displaying and promoting the work online whilst the artists concentrate on what they are driven to do - producing the works of art.

Watershed was started by a partnership of artists who commissioned an Internet firm to construct and maintain a joint web site that saved on the design and running costs of a well maintained and promoted site.

The content of the site is supplied by the members. They may choose to carry out their own photography for the web site, or have photographs taken by the Watershed team. In this case, the photographs will be of brochure quality so that they may be used in postcards, printed promotional material, magazines etc.

Watershed aims to offer all the services required to produce individual artist web sites of the highest quality with the minimum technical and time requirements being placed on the artists themselves.
